Beautiful nature and countless possibilities for trips

The Šumava nature in the Lipno region is simply breathtaking. It doesn't matter what time of year you arrive.

Winter provides countless opportunities for skiing, whether you choose to go cross-country skiing or downhill skiing directly in Lipno or take a short trip by car to the Austrian ski area Hochficht. Strong and long-lasting frost can turn the huge water surface of the Lipno dam into the longest skating track in the world. It is over 10 kilometres long and permanently maintained. Even in winter you can go swimming in the nearby swimming pool in Volare or take a day trip (about an hour's drive) to the thermal pools in the German town of Bad Fussing. We really recommend this experience. It's a wonderful feeling when you are swimming outside in the fresh air, surrounded by snow and feeling amazing in water with a 36°C temperature. There are, of course, restaurants and cafés in the area. You don't even have to go far to a café or restaurant in the town of Lipno, where you can visit cafés after a winter walk or skiing session, have dessert and coffee or just warm up with a hot cup of tea. We also recommend a romantic dinner in one of Lipno's restaurants.

Spring is the perfect time for bike trips – you can ride on good quality cycle paths almost anywhere. Lipno is a paradise for cyclists of all ages. Everyone will find their perfect route here. Hundreds of kilometres of cycle paths lead into the very heart of the beautiful Sumava countryside, from Stozec to Rozmberk. Nearby Cesky Krumlov, whose historical part is unique within the world, is also worth a visit. In spring, the real fishing season begins. The most famous Czech fisherman, Jakub Vágner, also made his catches on Lipno.

Summer in Lipno is just the thing. Swimming, sunbathing, short or lengthier trips to the surrounding countryside. Among the notable nearby destinations, we recommend the Treetop Trail, which offers a beautiful view of Lake Lipno, the peaks of Sumava and the Austrian Alps. The view is at its best in summer, but it also has its charm in autumn, when it offers a very romantic and intimate atmosphere. Boating also belongs to South Bohemia, we can help you rent a boat and arrange a day trip. Sightseeing cruises on Lipno or renting a sailboat and cruising on the Lipno reservoir is another phenomenal experience you shouldn't miss out on.

Autumn – those who like autumn will love it in Lipno. You can do almost everything we have described so far. It's the perfect time to visit some of the lookout towers in the area, and when you return to Resort d9 in the evening you'll be treated to a home-cooked dinner and a blazing fire in the restaurant.
